Company: Captivating Complexion

Status: Freelancing: Friday-Sundays.

Location: Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Lexington, Richmond, Culpeper. We travel all throughout so you can be located conveniently anywhere!

I am looking for an artist who is hungry to learn and motivated to dive into the world of bridal beauty. You will be our right-hand makeup assistant to keep our day flowing smoothly.

This position is for an aspiring or trained artist who has weekend availability. You are comfortable with driving and are committed to being on time and showing up.

Not only do you play a HUGE role in our timelines, but we are here for YOU as well. We are here to show you techniques, share bridal tips, help you in growing, and of course grab a bite at one of the nice wineries we just finished a wedding at.

What do our Makeup Assistants do?

We are blessed to be in such a high demand season of our business where we need helping hands for our larger bridal parties. Our makeup assistants are responsible for skin prep, applying lashes, brush cleaning, content capturing and lipstick for our additional clients, sanitizing brushes and products, taking media BTS and videos for our artists to create reels. You cut down our process time so that we can keep the day rolling! A typical makeup timeline for us is from 8AM-1PM.

There is no product cost to you! We provide EVERYTHING for you! No more stopping at Ulta last minute to grab your favorite pair of Demi Wispies. We will show up stocked and ready for you to use our lashes, lipstick, cinema secrets, alcohol, disposables, etc.

This means all profit and no expense to you.

What do our Second Artists do?

For any of our bridal parties with 9 additional and more we need a second artist that will help accommodate our timelines. At minimum, you will be doing 5 full faces with compensation and a travel fee. You are required to have a full up to date kit, lighting, chair, and table.

A Makeup Assistant.

This exact position is what led me to learn, watch an artist, ask questions, and get a feel to see if I even enjoyed the wedding world. Turns out I did, and I still assist to this day because you are never done learning and growing.

3 years later, I opened Captivating Complexion in June of 2020 and have been blessed to have service over 400 weddings since that start date.

I absolutely love the makeup and creative process, but I am even more passionate about the people and community. Makeup for me is an act of service and love. It’s about building relationships with someone leading up to their big day and continuing those long lasting memories even past their wedding.

If you’re working with me, I can guarantee that you will hear me talk about Harry Styles, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, or how my cat kept me up all night. Jokes aside, I am always here to encourage you and help you figure out your own personal goals.

This is a freelance position that does not require a committed contract with Captivating Complexion. You get to choose exactly WHICH jobs you would like to take.

Each assistant will make:

Pay per wedding
Compensated travel
