90 Days to Wedding-Ready Skin
When it comes to having flawless makeup, it all begins with your skin. We can correct color, even out skin tone, provide coverage and blur imperfections but we can’t fix or get rid of texture.
Everyone has some sort of skin texture including all the celebrities. I get asked a lot, especially from moms, “can you get rid of my bags underneath my eyes?” And while I can contour/highlight to compliment your features, I am not a plastic surgeon. If I had the power to make every wrinkle go away, you bet I would!
So how do we start getting into a routine right now that will ultimately benefit you on your wedding day?
First, schedule an appointment to see an esthetician. Just Google “facials in..” and fill the blank with your area. Seek a professional to evaluate where your skin is at right now and the steps you will need to take to get to your glowing skin goals. The last thing you want to be doing is spending tons of money on products that are not meant for you. Start with a basic deep exfoliating facial which will be a great way to receive a super clean facial. Keep seeing your esthetician for the next 3 months and you may find that you want to keep doing it even after your wedding!
Next, get into a morning and night routine! Once you have the right products for your skin it’s time to get into a routine. I personally put on some Netflix while I do my skincare to make it more fun and not so much of a task. At night I start with a makeup remover, then cleanse, exfoliate if needed, tone, add your moisturizer and any eye creams. I even like to add a nice amount of Chapstick if my lips are feeling dry. For my morning routine, I just cleanse and use a SPF 30 moisturizer. I put all my favorite skincare products linked at the bottom for you to see what I use.
Lastly, treat yourself to dermaplaning 1-2 weeks before your wedding. Make sure your esthetician does suggest/advise you to do this. Dermaplaning is a treatment that gets rid of all your peach fuzz and dead skin. There is no down time for your skin to heal which is a huge bonus. This truly makes a huge difference in how your makeup lays! If you plan on getting your eyebrows or face waxed make sure to do this the week before the wedding and not the week of. I promise you will not regret adding the dermaplan treatment on your third month facial!
That’s it! You are on your way to having the best natural glow for you wedding. I provided all of my current favorite products if anyone is interested. My skin type is dry and prone to redness. I’ve found these products to help calm down my skin and reduce my dryness!
